As a mother who lost my 22 year old son January 27th in an apartment fire, uncontrollable tears came when I heard the news. All my thoughts and prayers are with all the families.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends of these nine brave men, who lost their lives so that others could live. There are many ways to give of oneself to help others, but none that carry more honor and valor than to fight fires that destroy homes and lives of our families, friends and neighbors. God give you all some comfort in knowing that all the world grieves for you and with you, and take some strength from the whisper of angels wings hovering near at this tragic time.

My heart aches with sadness to know that someone just lost their sons, their daddys, their husbands, their brothers, their friends.

There are no words to describe the pain and sorrow that lies ahead for you all. I hope it brings you some comfort to know that tens of thousands of people from across this wonderful Country are grieving with you. We have lost nine of our finest and God will surely have a special place for them.

Tonight when I fold my hands to pray....I will be praying for God to comfort you all in this time of sorrow.

God Bless You All.

As a past board member of Pine Ridge I want to send my prayers out to the families, and especially the firefighters who volunteer at that station. I can rember Brandon always asking me if flew that day on my MEDUCARE shift and then would always ask what I went for. He grew up with my kids and now I have a son-in-law who is a fire fighter in Cambridge Mass and a daughter who is a burn nurse. I pray my family and all families of emergency workers will never have to go through what you are going through. God Bless, Lillian

As I was reading the morning paper from my kitchen table in Vestal New York , 850 miles from Summerville , my heart stopped , my breath held , as I was reading the names of the nine fire fighters whom had fallen answering the call . I knew of Mike and Brnadon through my days working as a dispatcher with Dorchester County , and Old Fort Fire Department . These two fine young men had goals , and dedication both as paid , and volunteer , they had set out to do what thier dream were made of , and this they did . In addition their colleagues were dedicated to the work , and also answering the call to protect , and save . When I first started fire fighting I recall learning the firemens prayer , how so true these words are , and this is the story of the dedication these men gave . My prayers go out to each of the families . May God be with you always . God Bless

Just the other day I found myself viewing the beautiful Power Point that was sent out last year entitled "Please Remember". Brandon, Frenchie and the other 7 firefighters will never be forgotten. As the 1 year anniversary quickly approaches it feels as if time has not healed our pain. My thoughts and prayers are always with the families, friends and brothern firemen of the Charleston Nine.
